The only catch? They had exactly two days left until the final deadline, and the track only existed as an idea.
Literally hours after Sam agreed to turn his tauparapara into a song, the duo sat down, tracked a raw recording of the chorus, and sent it through with the clock ticking down. That leap of faith paid off. The track immediately became a judge favorite, earning a spot as a finalist. The judges were so captivated by the raw potential of the snippet that they left a note stating they could not wait to hear the full, completed song.
